Thread identification
DIN Metric Light Series (L) — 24° Cone
DIN light-series (L) fittings use metric threads with a 24° internal cone, sealing via a bite ring on the tube or an O-ring cone (DKOL) on hose ends. They cover medium-pressure circuits on European machines.
Identify it
Four checks at the bench.

Metric thread with 1.5 mm (or 2 mm larger sizes) pitch

24° cone visible in the fitting body

Match tube OD to the L-series chart: thread ≈ tube OD + 4–6 mm

Hose ends marked DKOL carry the O-ring on the cone nose
Don't confuse it with…
- Heavy series (S) uses the same cone angle with thicker walls and different thread-to-tube pairings — L and S parts do not mix
- French GAZ and JIS 30° cones are different metric families

What's the difference between DKOL and DKOS?
DKOL is the light-series 24° O-ring cone, DKOS the heavy-series version. The letter tracks the tube series — check the union you're mating to.
How do I know if my metric fitting is L or S series?
Measure the thread and the tube OD together; the pairing determines the series. M18×1.5 on a 12 mm tube is 12L; M20×1.5 on the same tube is 12S.
