Braid hose weaves wires in a crossing pattern — flexible, economical, fine for steady pressures. Spiral hose lays four or six non-crossing wire plies — stiffer and costlier, but it survives the high-pressure impulse cycling that fatigues braid at the crossover points.

Can I replace spiral hose with cheaper braid if pressures 'seem low'?
No. The OEM specified spiral for the circuit's impulse duty, not just static pressure. Downgrades fail early and dangerously.
Why is my spiral assembly more expensive?
More wire, interlock ends, and stricter crimping. It's also the hose that won't be back in the shop next month.
